I have heard that a Willy`s Jeep four cylinder distributor can be modified to fit on a Model A engine,Yes I know anything can be modified, but is this an easy job?

Would't that be interesting....an easy way to get mechanical advance....

I have both, but do not have the long one piece drive for the Model A distributor to measure...

And the section that would fit into the Model A head is larger on the Willys distributor...This one is an Autolite IAD 4008....

Bob that looks pretty nice....

What did you have to do to the Autolite to make it work? Looks like you replaced the mounting section....or did you turn it down?

I just turned it down to the size of the Model A, shortened the shaft and milled
the offset tang. I don't know if it was necessary but I modified the Jeep clamp
to work on the A head by adding the little peg to fit in the little hole on the head.

I did a Jeep dist, in the '50s, don't remember all the details. Also did 2 Jeep carbs by turning a dual updraft manifold, UPSIDE down. A Friend had given me a BIG box of Jeep parts!
