From comments i have heard on the Fordbarn Bob Drake must have made some improvements in his organisation. I ordered a 39 Standard gas tank and lock gas cap on November -1-2013 and received it today November-9. The tank looks good and also the locking gas cap. Good job Bob i am a happy camper.

Although I do not need the tank I ordered from Drakes yet, I placed an order for a tank from them on or about August 1st and still have not received it Part # 81A-9002. Did you order a stainless tank? It shows them in stock.

It should be steel. I paid $99.50 on sale. I have not checked but i am sure itis steel. If not i realy got a deal.

Good for you. I ordered a tank for my 46 this past summer and haven't heard a thing from Drake. I called once and got a recording that everyone was in a meeting. I'm still waiting.

I just got one for my 47 super deluxe about a week ago and am very happy with it. For me, it was well worth the wait.

Drake only got 88 tanks in and they had over 250 orders as of a few weeks ago... I was one on back order, so I cancelled my order.

how about Rock Valley Auto or Tanks.. Do these guys have what you fellas are looking for? What about splitting the old ones open and repair.

I need a tank for my 41 Ford Coupe. Can you purchase a tank for less than $100.00 anywhere other than Bob Drake. I do not mind waiting for a few weeks. Does he have a sale on now and how long does the sale last if so? Thanks

I can not comment on tanks I ordered headers from Bob last Friday they were delivered on Wednesday

I called Drake this morning to inquire about my 46 tank. I was told that it is on backorder until Feb. Since I'll be in AZ at that time I had to cancel my order.
