Re: Happy Easter
Question: What do mythical egg-laying rabbits have to do with the resurrection of Christ?

Re: Happy Easter
Quote:
Easter eggs Main article: Easter egg Easter eggs are specially decorated eggs given out to celebrate the Easter festival. The custom of the Easter egg originated in the early Christian community of Mesopotamia, who stained eggs red in memory of the blood of Christ, shed at his crucifixion.[99][100] As such, for Christians, the Easter egg is a symbol of the empty tomb.[14][15] The oldest tradition is to use dyed chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute eggs made from chocolate, or plastic eggs filled with candy such as jellybeans. The Easter Bunny is a popular legendary anthropomorphic Easter gift-giving character analogous to Santa Claus in American culture. Many Americans follow the tradition of coloring hard-boiled eggs and giving baskets of candy. On Easter Monday, the President of the United States holds an annual Easter egg roll on the White House lawn for young children.[101] Since the rabbit is a pest in Australia, the Easter Bilby is available as an alternative. Easter eggs are a widely popular symbol of new life in Poland and other Slavic countries' folk traditions. A batik-like decorating process known as pisanka produces intricate, brilliantly-colored eggs. The celebrated House of Fabergé workshops created exquisite jewelled eggs for the Russian Imperial Court. |

Re: Happy Easter
Happy Easter!
IMO mentioning religion on a religous (Christian) holiday makes no one a jackass. Enough said.

Re: Happy Easter
Why anyone would ever " one star " an Easter posting is beyond me ! Freedom of religion is a fight that our military fought and died for. Shame on you, whoever you are! Wayne

At the risk of being banned from this site, I must say that I bet most of the participants on this site do not agree with your statement. Due to being PC most will remain silent. Ban me or not, Christ has indeed risen.

Re: Happy Easter
Yes! Same to you! Meaning of course, with the traditions. I really hate it when people have t o tear up traditional beliefs and customs. I love the Christmas and Easter holidays and I hate to see them disparaged for supposed "Truth" or political correctness. Happy Easter everyone!
