Please don’t laugh but try the old plumbers trick . Stuff lots of white bread in the hole so it can hold the water back then JB weld

That works well on water pipes for sure! Done it many times my self. Don't try it with silver rod though..... way to much heat Lol it turned to a solid plug in the line. Its a great trick on soft soldier though! worth a shot I would think.

Completely agree with this . I have fixed leaks by drilling/tapping the area,. Installing a brass plug with jb weld on the threads, grinding it flat to the block and peening it. Cant see it when you're done with a little paint and seals it right up.
Don't know if you have access to do all that with the engine in the car or perhaps you've solved it by now (?).
