What Other Makes (non Ford products) Do You Drive?
My wife is from South Bend, Indiana so, in addition to our Flathead powered Fords and Lincolns, we also have two Studebakers, a '55 Speedster (waiting for restoration, hopefully it will end up looking like this one.
And a '63 Avanti, this is our Avanti.

'63 Corvette, numbers matching, base (250HP) engine, wide ratio four speed, posi. Bought it used in '66 and drove it 'til '70 shortly after I got married. Luckily, had a place to tuck it away for a few years. In '98, my son was graduating college and I decided to refurbish the mechanicals. Took me 6 years! Pulled the body, redid everything underneath. Put the body back on without even washing it. I don't worry about scratching the paint.

Gowd, Man, I'm a true helpless sucker for anything well-built with an engine.
Well, I take that back. Gotta be from the great Amercan era, before the muscle cars. (No offense to muscle car guys, they just never really turned my crank). Got lots of Ford stuff from the shoebox era. Some others that I have ran across that I wasn't able to dodge owning. '36 Terraplane Coupe And most recently... '47 Row Crop Oliver 70 |

I have always been a Ford guy but while serving ing the army in Germany in the early 70s I bought my 1st VW bug. Since then I have probably owned 75 air cooled VWs. Now only a 69 bug and a 58 bug. Let me know if you need parts. I can still tell them from Ford parts, usually.

Re: What Other Makes (non Ford products) Do You Drive?
I don't own one (yet) but I have had an active interest in Stanley steam cars. A friend of mine bought one about 7 years ago and I helped with getting it back on the road. Since then I have been on a couple of steam car tours with my friend and his car. This past week we were in north east Kansas for the Flint Hills Steam car tour, with about 12 other Stanleys and 3 White steam cars.
Taken at Coucil Grove, KS on 5-20-10. -Lyndon |

Re: What Other Makes (non Ford products) Do You Drive?
Well, since you asked, I do have this chopped and shortened 39 Chev cpe that was originally built by Mike Wiley in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Dang car turned some heads when it first came out in 1980. Powered by big block native engine with tunnel ram with t400 and roundy round quick change rear end. Cover shot was early version when the doors had handles and opened from the back... not so anymore.
