36 PU-After market muffler?
I'm looking for a after market muffler for my 36 pick up. I don't want to pay $350, for a Ford script reproduction. Does anyone know if there is a generic one that will interface with the existing stock exhaust system?

There are also after-market places that can supply you. Waldron's comes to mind.

You can also search muffler on Rock Auto and pick a muffler by inlet size from 1.65” to 4”

No old time muffler shops in Seattle? Should be easy peasy for them to adapt one for your p/u.

Re: 36 PU-After market muffler?
I used a Walker 18179 on my otherwise stock '36 pickup exhaust system (stock 221 cu in poured bearing motor), went on with minimal fiddling (cut a little bit off the tailpipe side to just leave a straight stub, and cut off a small unused bracket) -cost about $45

Re: 36 PU-After market muffler?
Adam. Thanks for the walker part #. I will verify the input and output pipe diameters and order one, if it's correct, otherwise I will make a trip to NAPA.
