Default 1938 NOS Windshield

I've been offered the opportunity to buy some nos parts from a friend. I'm really interested in the windshield he has. NOS, still in primer, with Ford Part No. Tag. I want to offer what is fair......don't want to lose a friend....how much is fair?

Offer $200. ( $100 for the windshield and another $100 not to loose a friend.[/B]
If he wants less, he will let you know, I hope.
Buying parts from friends is always tough.
Best procedure is to have him state his price, FIRST.
If it's too high don't buy it. Don't dicker if he's a good friend.

I had a friend who has since passed away, who would always offer way more than an item was worth. I never had anything that he was interested in, but went with him to purchase parts on occasion. I would offer my advice about his high offers, but his attitude was its here, I'm here, I want it .

Why has the windshield been painted in primer. Can't see through it. LOL

I this is a windshield frame, and NOS, it is worth more than $200. Rusty, full of holes frames go for more on Ebay. Good, solid frames are hard to find. If it has a good chrome facing, it is a gold mine.

The 39 frame is not reproduced and if you really need it (not buying for resale) then you should pay whatever you think it is worth. NOS items do not come around every day and good used frames out here on the left coast bring $200. If I needed that frame I would not hesitate to pay $400-500 for a NOS frame.

I have an almost perfect w/s frame for 35-36 pickup that I have turned down $500 for. The repops go for more than that and you have to do a lot of work on them to make them usable.

I bought a n.o.s. 37 w/s frame with the n.o.s. glass in 1970 and paid 500.00. That was a lot of money in 1970. But I own it and it will be going on my 37 sedan delivery when I get to it. Offer him enough so he will not turn it down.

They will interchange but the trucks usually don't have the chrome surround.
