Copper intake / exhaust gasket
In replacing my intake /exhaust gasket with a copper gasket, I'am curious as to your opinion of using a copper coat adhesive before installation, or if this is necessary? The manifold has been resurfaced.
As always, Thanks in advance for your replys. Bob's '31 Cab. |

Re: Copper intake / exhaust gasket
I never did. Just remember when installing the manifold work from the 2 nuts inside and work your way to the 2 outer ones. Alittle at a time. I take it "BOTH"manifolds were resurfaced together as one unit?

Re: Copper intake / exhaust gasket
In general I do not use any adhesive with the copper manifold gaskets, unless the block is pitted, as sometimes is the case around the front where water splashed from the leaky pump. In that case, I have found that Ultra Gray RTV works very well and is not affected by the heat. The copper gaskets work very well.
