Default cam gear thread help Q...

Threads on cam mashed up a bit. need to clean them up. This is a B four cyl cam. It looks to be approx. 1" diameter and maybe 16 tpi. Are all cam threads same (pitch/diam) ? Anyone ever have to repair such threads ? Any helpful tips on what is needed to correct damaged cam threads ? I'm thinking that minimally , a die is needed ?

Hey Paul,
Thanks for your input.
Well, I'm just getting back into 'active duty' ! AOL for repairs...ha !
Been to hell and back since last march...with health problems..cancer stuff.
Doing much better due to modern techniques/advances. Was thinking of youse guys the whole time ! Got a new project in mind (still 4 banger) and am still amazed at all the hobby resources available.

I've never read where anyone has addressed this damaged cam thread subject, over on the A site. Thought that I'd try here first then.
What I really need is the DIE size of A/B cam threads !! Or some tip/trick for repairing these threads otherwise.

If it is not mashed much, a thread file works ok.
If it is mashed bad, you about have to fix them in a lathe.
