Yup. I had a Roto-Faze distributor on this engine with a Jacobs computer ignition. Better than a mag except for having to carry a battery.
You can get them with either points or an electronic trigger. Both will turn over 10K rpm.

Hey Pete,
I was hoping you would post.
You are the only member who I can ever remember mentioning Roto-Faze.
The old Inventor/ owner died, I understand.
Im told a relative runs the business, dont know ?
So still in business, eh ?
Pete, which would you recommend I try... points or electronic ?
Do they come calibrated ?
Do you have contact info ?
Thanks for all your help, now and in the past !
Rick

Kong Jackson who originally developed the Kong Roto-Faze distributor has been long gone.
Joe Panek, who makes them now was still kicking as of a couple weeks ago. His son is doing most of the work now.
I would go with electronic points if you are racing and mechanical points for the street. I can recommend the Jacobs computer ignition also. It has some features none others have.
They come set up ready to go with the advance curve you specify.
There is a degree plate on the side of the unit calibrated in one degree increments for easy tuning at the track.
When most people see the prices of this stuff, they usually decide they don't want to go that fast.....lol

Hey Pete,
Ha , ha funny but true !
An OLD saying: ‘speed costs $....how fast do you want to go’.
Truer now than when first said, IMO.
I’m not just fishin, l will follow your info !
Im thinking that I’d like to be able to turn more rpm with this D, than with a hot B.
Do you still make custom cams ?
Stay healthy and safe !

Roger on the cams.
Remember, any real fast cam is going have to be on a billet and need radius lifters.

Hey Pete,
You did radius of my lifters and matched with cam on my last cam setup... worked GREAT !
I’ve got the billet blank this time.
I will pm you regarding my attempt at Roto -Faze. Too complicated, long happening for here. But you’ll want to know.

I’ll try Jacobs next.
