Default Model A 350/350 Virus

I saw a Model A in distress yesterday. It looked so sad. It's headlights were drooping and it's tires were all swelled up around some round aluminum things.
There was a "crate" something hanging from an engine hoist, staring and smiling wickedly. The Model A's shocks were stressed to their breaking point and the front wheels were shaking in a death wobble.
At 90 years old he knew the end of life as he knew it was coming to an end. He knew he was getting the "Model A 350/350 Intrusion Virus" Aaaaaarrrggghhh!!!!!

There is nothing quite as sad as seeing A model with this terminal illness.

The only crime that I think occurs happens with purists, hotrodders, street rodders you name it..when some jackass takes a car apart and doesn't have the discipline to put it back together.Dreamers, wannabes who lose interest two weeks after they tear it all apart.Put a chevy V8 in a model a? its your car, fill it with concrete and use it as a door stop if you want,it's your property..just finish it,whatever you do,finish it

Somewhat like COVID-19, SBCs in Fords is a pandemic in the Tampa Bay area.

Yes, it is yours to do with as you please, but the chopped up sparkly cars have zero fascination with me.
Went to an “antique” car show recently. I was very disappointed. There were rows of chopped up chromium infected monsters with hoods propped with broom handles. (Always wondered why if they could do all this custom work they couldn’t figure out a hood prop?)
I was about to leave when a guy rolled in in an original A. Made my day.

If you want to make an "A" street rod please leave our beloved "A"s alone, get a glass body after market frame and the rest of the C--P.thank you my opinion.

Think of it this way: If someone does the nasty on their original A and puts in a different drive train, or gawd forbid, an overdrive and hydraulic brakes, then your all original car just got that much rarer, and more valuable. They win because they got the changes they wanted, you win because your car is now even more rare. That's a win win in my book!

For cars slated for delivery to Florida they seem to. I know it's the owner's call to install whatever they want but never could understand why most in my area do not desire to keep a Ford in a Ford? In fairness maybe the 289s or 302s are more expensive and not as easy to install as an SBC.

It all comes down to character. The Model A Ford has a character in the way it rides, handles, motor performance, exhaust sound, ahooga, spring squeaks, other rattles, all of which put together makes it unique. That is it's character. The Model A is like nothing else. The character makes the car. Get rid of that and then do you really have a Model A Ford? It might look like one but drive it ten feet and you will know.

If somebody wants to make a hot rod, that is fine, just not for me. Just don't use a perfect car to do it - use a rougher core considering you are going to be doing a lot of sheet metal work and welding anyways.

I have an SBC Roadster, c notched frame, quarter elliptical. You'll be happy to hear I'm currently building a stock Chassis to move the body back on to. I have a freshly rebuilt 4 pot and 3 spd that will be powering it now. I am still committing sacrilege though I have Hydraulics Brakes going on it and steel wheels.

I’m not familiar with the abbreviation. What is SBC?

when the small block came out in 1955 there was no engine like them. They were smaller than the rest of the V8,s and faster than most and would rev higher than the rest. They were the best engine at that time. If you do not like them that is fine run what you like.

Wish I had all those original A parts and pieces I sold to purists for pennies on the dollar back!
