Hey guys, Im looking for a crankshaft shim for a 59 engine, I heard Federal Mogul made a .010 shim, which is what I need.
Does anyone have one they would part with, got a picture of one, maybe I can make one, or know where I can get one ?

Never heard of shimming a 59AB crankshaft.

Are you meaning shims to fit at crankshaft bearing caps??

Mac's Antique Auto Parts sells main brg shims for Model T & A. They may also have them for Ford flathead V-8's

sorry for the confusion, the shim fits in the thrust aria, I read here somewhere Federal Mogul made one, Ive read Ron talk about them,

They made oversize width inserts to correct thrust surface wear, but I don't know where you could put a shim that wouldn't get torn up immediately!

I was thinking the same thing 40 Deluxe, if ol Ron says to put a shim, than I would put a shim if I could find one.

You may discover some brands of new production bearings actually have more thrust material this meaning they actually measure wider. I find this to be the case with Clevitte 77 brand main bearings. using the brand bearing to gain proper clearance since they are to tight the bearing thrust surface must be sanded to remove material. If your only looking for .010 there's no way a shim that thin would hold up or as mentioned above it would be impossible to hold it in place.
You could actually flare the existing thrust face slightly to reduce the end play especially if your only need .010.
