Default Painting Body Underside

An engine hoist can double as a body hoist for painting purposes. This may not work for a closed car body.

Mike,
I made a body hauler I use to move the body around -sandblasting and painting. I have used it for my 28 special coupe, the 29 phaeton and I plan to used it to haul my 29 CCPU. I paint outside, so I haul the body outside for painting on the body hauler. What I did was similar to what you did for both my cars. I lifted the rear part of the body and place a 2x4 under it to spray the bottom. Both bodies were light enough for me to lift the rear up.

Thanks for the photos Rusty. Handy rig for sure. On a couple roadsters that I have restored over the years I used to simply stand the body up on the fire wall in order to paint the bottom. But now I'm getting on in years and I was afraid of damaging the body it it got away from me.

Rusty, may I ask you how you got your Phaeton body up onto your body stand? Call in the neighbors?
