Improved steering column
I have a 7 tooth steering box in my '29 sedan and I am tired of wandering back and forth across my lane while driving. It has been overhauled with all new parts. I know the 2 tooth can be adjusted better but what about a later Ford FX 100 or something. Would it be less sloppy yet? Bill G

Re: Improved steering column
No matter what box you use, if ALL the connections that make up the front end and if ALL the alignments are not within specification the steering will not be right. Make sure all the above is correct first as the 7 tooth box alone will not cause the car to wonder if rebuilt correctly.

Re: Improved steering column
Even if all else is good on your front end, the car will still wander. It is the conventional cross-ply tyres. IMHO, if you put a set of radials on it, your problem is solved so long as all the joints and steering box are OK.
Do you know anybody who has put radial tyres on their car? Seek out someone who has and satisfy yourself before you spend the $ if you like.
