Guys, how many dome lamps were fitted to a 1940 "standard" Fordor sedan?

According to Gary Mallast there was a dome lamp on either side. |

I know the ford and Mercury cars were different but my 39 mercury has a light at the top on each B pillar

I should have clarified my answer by saying "they had one on each pillar post just like the deluxe cars."

The salesmans manual page 11 reads: Rear compartment lamps in the two Sedans are located on the door pillars with switch on the right-hand side.
