Default 1939 Ford /Mercury door patch panel

I understand the Mercury is longer than the Ford but will the 39 ford door patch panel work if I add on to it ?

The bodies are different but they both use sheet metal. Metal that already has some form to it is easier to reform for modification but I don't think it will be quite the same. The length difference is all in the area in front of the cowl between Ford & Mercury in that era. The mercury frames were extended and they made a wishbone adapter for the front radius rod to fit. They share a lot of chassis parts but few body parts.

A competent panel shop should be able to fabricate it.
