Default return of the 32 today

completed some work on this '32 for a customer.. Most of the time I'm returning an "A" to someone.. today it was this nice little '32 coupe. Ran perfectly on the way back.... shot before I left and on the road. I love these old Fords!!

The cool thing was I dropped this one off, picked up my '30 Tudor from his garage for the drive on the way home. My Tudor sure drove awesome too. Cruised home the entire way about 62 effortlessly (yes I have an overdrive). A great day!

Those 32 Fords are just the best looking cars Ford ever made. Love them! Damn shame they only made them 1 year.

Mike,
I didn't take any of the engine compartment this round.. my camera phones maxed out... next time..
It's a V8 and the engine compartment is stock except for a 97 carb. Has the tall coil and all... I rebuilt the distributor and strobed on my heyer set...

It is a beautiful car so I couldn't pass up passing it along. Some just stand out...

Larry,

I challenged Jack to a drag race with my Vicky. But now that I know he'll be running with a 97 instead of a Detroit Lubricator, he might have to spot me a couple car lengths!

I'm sure the Vicky can hold it's own. His is doing much better now. He has a heavy foot on the gas so I had to preach being conservative and carefull till I get some better shocks on it. You might be in for a good run. would love to see a photo of the two together!

Sorry I didn't make the V8 meeting... all the best!

I know your love of the "B" Vince.. but OK.. lets call it a 32 Deluxe coupe powered with the "New" V8... of which by production figures I see and have photos showing V8 coupes there were over 21,000 Deluxe coupes built in '32 with the V8. and standards as well in addition to. I see a standard V8 coupe in Lorin Sorensen's "Fords Forever" book on page 34....

I have to admit that honestly I think a good B engine is probably ( might ruffle some V8 feathers here) is probably as much power and maybe more torque than the V8... albeit it is just 65 hp for 32 (only).
I'm not a 32 expert by any stretch but it does have cowl lights and visors/brackets, albeit a replacement interior. Not sure what else would have made it a deluxe? What were the common deluxe features for 32? Did only deluxes have visors or how about standards?
Help me learn a little more 32 here Vince....

No matter how it got there it is a nice car. I appreciate all you efforts on 32 and Model A history.

All the best!
Larry

You can put a 1932 radiator and grille shell onto a Model A and it will look much better in my opinion.

I built a Model B motor to pit against an 85 HP Flathead, but the V8 car beat me. It will take a lot of expensive mods to make a Model B engine beat a stock Ford Flathead V8.

Here's the production data for '32s. You'll see that 2/3's of the standard 5-window coupes were V8's (designated by "18"), and 970 deluxe 3-window coupes had 4-cylinder "B" engines. I have a Victoria with a V8, but there was a B version here in St. Louis a number of years ago. Even rarer than a 3-window with a B engine.
