So Mike you say there is a circuit type breaker the=at will fit in the fuse holder?? My next venture is to go over her and check all grounds as a number of you have said to make sure all have good contact. I know minor repair but sure felt good to find it nyself ( of course with alot of direction from you guys ) and see her start running again...Thanks Guys

Ok here is a new issue. The truck started fine Saturday drove it for about 40 miles not one hiccup. Pulled in the drive shut it of and left it set for 1/2 hour went to start it it wouldnt start and now again no spark. This really gets tiresome.

I have found the after market fuse holders to be problematic. Some times the brass clips loose their tension & act like a blown fuse.I use the 30 amp square breaker & mount it in the same spot as the fuse holder on the starter.

Price was right on a big box of assorted glass tube fuses at Harbor Freight so I bought them. I put one of these new fuses in and it did not work at all even though visually it looked fine. Used my VOM Meter to check these fuses and I found several that did not conduct electricity at all. Dang off shore crxp!

Morale of this story is don't assume the glass fuse is fine by looking at it, as you may also have to check it with a meter to be sure.

Well - look on the bright side - at least you were at home, and not left stranded somewhere...

Also - do you have a copy of Les Andrews' Volume 1? That's a must-have, the troubleshooting sections alone sound like they'd be worth your while...

Angry Re: Wont Start

Mine would not start today at a marriage registry office while I was using it for my nephew's wedding. I persuaded myself it was due to the crazy angle the car was parked due to a hill. After 2 minutes of attempts to start, it occurred to me I had not turned the fuel on.

And to have messed up so publicly in front of all the wedding guests.

At least the rest of the 100 mile round trip was uneventful.
