I haven't read all the previous posts, but is it possible you smell gas but are actually getting light headed from exhaust entering the passenger compartment? The tail pipe stops short of the rear, do you have any holes under the rear that may be pulling in from tailpipe? I have smelled a lotta gas for prolonged periods and have only wound up with a mild headache. (no, I don't huff!!) On a side note it may be your giddy with the enjoyment!!
