oil pan drive gear
What am I doing wrong ? I have pulled the distributor. the lower shaft and side cover but cannot get the drive gear to come out. I can lift it up easily but when I get it as high as I can the tang on the bottom that goes to the oil pump will not come high enough to take out assy ? Thanks Joe B

Kinda have to "hold your tongue right", Joe. It will come out. Some one put it in there. Just have to get it turned right.

Re: oil pan drive gear
I just took mine out this afternoon. Not sure exactly HOW it came out. I know it was tight and when it came out my first thought was "I hope i can get this thing back in there".
