Jno Brown Lamps for 1911 Torpedo
I am trying to assemble a set of lamps for my 1911 Torpedo and was curious if anyone knew of a place where I might be able to buy some. Original or reproduction.
The models are Brown Model 19, 85, 75 or 78 tail lamps. Thanks! Austin |

Re: Jno Brown Lamps for 1911 Torpedo
Many years back, the 1911 and 1912 Jno. Brown headlamps were being reproduced, but they are no longer made. I don't think anyone ever reproduced the matching side or tail lights. I think the headlamps were made by Stuart Bouman (sp?) of Pennsylvania.

You can buy them on eBay in ones and twos. Buy the best ones that you can, restoration is costly. I don't think any of these have been completely reproduced but you can buy 50% of the parts new.
There is an ebay seller that has several accounts who specializes in these lamps. His main selling account is musical99 you ought to contact him. He gets good money for good lamps. You want good lamps right?

When looking at unrestored lamps, try to get a pair that looks like they were together for a long time. Lot's of times you will see a pair of cowl lamps but one is nice and the other not so nice, like they were mated up just to make a pair.
