I added directional lights on a 31 Deluxe Roadster
For those that are thinking of adding directional lights, do it. My wife and I could not see wasting our time (or lives) thinking that hand signals were really doing any good. Forget night time driving or busy highway lane changes.
I installed Snyders "tickin through time" hidden turn signal kit. I went with this because I did not want any unsightly controls or lights hanging off of the car. No, it is not the cheapest, but for me I feel it was the best. A right rear light was added because I only had a left light. I changed both lights to LED's. Wow they are bright and intense. So, the parking, braking and license plate light are all LED's. I changed the parking lamps so that they could do both parking and directional. You do not need load resisters for the kit to work. The only thing that you see is the little left/right directional light control unit under the dash. The unit can also be mounted on the gear shift, but you will see the wire. The directional unit also comes with a flasher and beeper. The beeper is so loud that I had to put some tape on it to tone it down. Last edited by old31; 09-02-2016 at 12:10 AM. |

Re: I added directional lights on a 31 Deluxe Roadster
I was hesitant to go with signals or LEDs, that is, until I got rear-ended.
You're right, its a good change. Oh, just have to say it. That car is way to neat and clean ! [ smiley face] |

This is what the tail LED taillights look like. For you purists, maybe the LED look isn't correct. But bright they are.

I am using a positive 6 volt system.
Attached is my entire order. Note, you will not need all of the same items if you already have a right rear tail lamp. |

Turn signals are only good if the person next to you gives a damn when he sees them.

I didn't want to switch to red lens either, but, did for the law and safety reasons. Don't know if any of it has worked, but, I haven't been hit again. Now I don't even notice the changes. |
