Default Steps to install anti-rattle felt in steering column

What do I need to take apart the steering column to install the anti-rattle felts. I guess I need a step by step and what to watch out for. Also how long should it take to perform this repairs. What else should I consider doing while I have it apart.

Thanks

If you are referring to the spark and throttle control rod anti rattle felts, that is a big job, and Les Andrews walks you through it, as stated above. Is the steering loose? If so, you might consider rebuilding the entire steering box. That requires removing the steering column from the car. Reassembling your rebuilt steering column will be the best time to install the control rod anti rattlers.

I just need the anti-rattle. I also have a convertible which would help if I have to pull the entire steering column.

With a roadster or Phaeton, you can pull the light switch rod all the way out of the steering column without having to remove the entire steering column. Just lower the top. You can't do this with a closed car. Your biggest obstacle may be pulling the upper steering column bushing after removing the light switch rod and steering wheel. If damaged from removing, you will need to buy a new upper bushing where the spark and throttle rods go through.
