Default Longer speedo cable needed

Anyone know a source for custom speedometer cables? Long story from the 50s, but my 32 has a later differential (maybe 33?) and torque tube that's been shortened. Whoever welded it rotated the front portion 180 degrees so the speedo gear is on top with the outlet facing the battery. Routing it back to the passenger side to run up the firewall puts too much bend on my 71" new cable. Seems I remember years ago hearing about a guy who made cables any length. Advice anyone?

Check with Lokar products. They have a kit to make a new cable. You will have to use the original male end of your old cable on their cable to go into the original speedometer. Why run the cable all the way over to the passenger side of the firewall to bring the cable inside? There should be an opening on the driver's side of the firewall to bring the cable inside.

Call the CHP in your area. Ask who does the speedo work for them?
They will have someone local that may be able to help.
It worked for me in the Sacramento area

Most towns had a speedometer shop. These shops can make cables any length.

I had to have a longer cable made for my '40 since it had an auxiliary trans and a stock cable was too short. Had one made by a local speedo shop. Try a truck repair shop in your area to see who they use. There should be a local source. The longer cable wasn't cheap but works perfectly.

I bought a "cut to size" speedo cable for my 49 Merc at the local NAPA store. I think it was around $10.00. They came in two lengths. The shorter kit worked on my stock transmission with an overdrive. Hope that helps...

Snyder has an 85 inch cable in his Model A catalog, number A 17260 BTR $44.25. Should work on 1932.

I found this guy online . I gave him a call for a custom length cable I need. He knew what ends I needed by just telling him the year of the car and what speedo I have (SW) . I haven't ordered it yet because a friend needs one also so we will order together once we get his length. I was impressed with his knowledge and I will order from him .
