Default Fender ID, 35 or 36?

I just picked up some extra parts for my 35 coupe, donor car definitely a 35 coupe, but right rear fender appears to have the lines of a 36. Front fenders, hood, all definitely 35.
It’s a bit folded in at wheel well, but What do you think?

Rear slope looks convex like a '36; not concave like a '35.

That’s what I’m thinking, also peak of fender not as prominent as 35.
Drivers side hard to tell as it’s pretty crunched on the back half. Fronts are for sure 35.

Hard to tell from you're pictures you posted, from the 35/36 restoration book it looks 35 to me. How about the very back/bottom detail and angle of the fender where it meets the body by the bumper brackets, I believe that angle detail is different to?? Although looking at the "ridge lne" or spine of the contour from the taillight position down the bottom it doesn't appear to have a "sorta" concave profile???

And then maybe at some point in it's life it had a little custom bodywork performed on it.

Thank for the "Viagra" picture!!! I'd agree with both 36 and the fact that the wheel well opening has some major modification work done..which doesn't help matters!!!!

Inside corner of wheel well folded in.
Other fender definitely 35, but has seen better days, but I will try to straighten it.

Sorry for the poor pictures, but it’s not letting me load them , again, unless I just screenshot an exsisting picture.

I have an overlay drawing comparing contour differences between 35 vs 36 rear fenders. If I can find that pic, will post here later.

This is probably a better picture and explanation for comparing 35 to 36 passenger car rear fenders.

Well that settles it, right one is 1936, looks like I’m still on the lookout for a better set of rear fenders.
I’m working on mine but left rear is pretty rough. And someone welded in a piece of 1/2” conduit for a bead.

I’ve been working on right rear a little more than left.

Thanks JM35 Sedan
Those are great, now I have to go look at our 35 as I think one side is 36 and one side is 35 as I the tip off point in my case was the angle at the back bottom near the bumper brackets was different and by you're second post its very noticeable (the difference). More pronounced angle to the 36 Fender for sure!!!

I saw a beautifully restored 36 five window coupe last weekend. And I could’ve sworn it had 35 fenders on the back, because they looked a lot like the ones on my coupe. I wish I would’ve got a picture.

Nine years ago I judged 35 and 36 cars on the concourse at the EFV-8 Club's Western National Meet in Saint George, Utah. One of the cars on the show field had a 35 rear fender on one side and a 36 rear fender on the other side. It took all of us judging there that day awhile to catch that difference. In addition to that, we also determined that one side was a coupe fender, while the other side was a modified sedan fender

If you look closely my right fender is a modified sedan fender. Took me awhile to figure out what the strange repair was.

I always found it easier to tell from a straight side view; once you figure it out, they are totally different.
