Default Vintique Auto Parts

Is there really a place to buy Vintique parts or is it just a sub supplier to Drakes and Carpenter etc. ? There web site has been under construction for two years. I've gotten parts from Drake and Carpenter in Vintique boxes.

Just askin'.......

Thx Mike

It's my experience that they are a supplier to the parts guys. And, stuff made in China and maybe other off shore places.

I hate to say this because I am opposed to Chinese "junk" like everyone else but I have a throttle pedal and a few other interior pieces made by them that are pretty decent. It's one of those thing where some of their stuff sucks and some is okay.

Hi Mike,
When I order parts, because of past horrible quality experiences over decades in Model A and Flathead parts, I specifically tell suppliers that they are not to sell me Vintique.

Thanks guys......I ordered '40 Hub Caps, choke and throttle cables from C & G and they came in a Vintique box. Good quality, but I've heard that sometimes you're not so lucky !

Funny thing.....I was looking at buying some 16" trim rings and it just so happens that a guy on the Barn was advertising some in Swap Meet. Instead of Drake I bought from the Barner. The box came in the mail and the parts were from 1997 in the original wrappings ! Made in America. You have no idea how bright and shiny they are. Compared to a friend of mine they are really-really nice. Things sure changed from 1997 and China relations huh ?

Thx all.....Mike

I bought a 32 radiator trim and emblem at LARS from SoCal. It was Vintique. I called Vintigue after a problem and they made it good at no charge. They make a tremendous amount of stuff. Some is better and some is worse. I am satisfied with what I bought from them. Mirror, floor hardwear, hood hardwear, vent handle, handles, horn button, peddle pads.

Recently purchased a steering wheel from C&G. It turned out to be Vintique, made offshore, and had a manufacturing flaw. Called C&G, explained the problem, and they immediately cross shipped another after opening it and checking for flaws. Good/bad re:Vintique and Awesome service C&G. It's a shame any of this stuff is made offshore. I'd gladly pay more for Made in America.

For what it is worth I don't have a problem with their products. My running board covers have been on the car since 2001 & had the car has over 85,000 miles on it. They still look like the day I installed them, fit & finish & pattern are very nice. The grille shell & insert are also Vintique & the fit & finish is also very good. The price & customer service is way better than trying to repair someones junk that they thought were part of their 401K.

Good or bad, if it wasn't for Vintique, we wouldn't have some of the parts at all.

well said PeteVS post #15. Old Fords wouldn't be restored if it wasn't for the suppliers that we far too often loathe, detest and bad mouth. I've bought lesser quality than sometimes hoped for but i'm fairly short on manufacturing capability, rubber molds, chroming ability, sewing skills, forging facilities and a few more trades involved in producing a 6000 piece/component automobile.
