I don't think its original.
The vacuum source is off the front outlet of the teapot.

That is a '57 and later Y-block distributor which has vacuum and mechanical advance. It will not operate properly with the original carburetor unless there has been some modifications. There are some folks in here you can give you more detail about that.
If the intake manifold and carburetor on your engine have been swapped with a '57 or later Y-block and everything is properly connected, you are probably good to go.

I have a feeling that it's getting ported vacuum from above the throttle plates. I've had the teapot apart for a clean found a few things aren't ideal. There is what appears to be full manifold vacuum off the back so maybe I end up using that. There was some rust in the fuel inlet and the fuel screen was completely clogged. Also weirdly the screen retainer spring was absent so it's been replaced with another one to hold it against the inlet like the manual says. The fuel bowl is now filling and a much healthier rate.

At this stage I just need it to run so I can move it about to get further body work done. Once that's completed I'll circle back and sort this carb out properly.

It's sure is an interesting design and pretty compact for what it's designed to achieve.

"Interesting" is a good description for a Holley 4000 teapot.

It's runs okay now. Carbs all cleaned out and the mech fuel pump is working well. The vacuum booster on the pump appears to be in good order as well.
