Default Main wiring harness connection PEASE HELP!

I've had a ton of troubles trying to reconnect the main harness connection back together at the end of the steering box!
Every time I think I've got it back together correctly I move the light switch on the steering wheel and it locks up and won't move either direction.
I bought all new CORRECT wiring from Brattons and my switch is in great shape but I guess I'm an idiot because I can't get it right.
Please help! Thanks

You have to be sure the switch contact plate is fully seated in the metal cup. Also it helps to smooth the edges of the contacts and I use some Vaseline on the contacts to help them slide.

It is tough. Stay with it. Don't force or bend anything. Anyone, like a local model a club who could help you? It is easy to get things in the wrong orientation. Can't explain it here. Look closely at the pictures. I assume you have the books that show this. Good luck.

Yessir I have Les Andrews green and red book but it doesn't have much on it.
I'll keep working on it. Also I just got in contact with the local club in my town so I'll call them tomorrow.
Love your YouTube videos by the way!! I made a test light and timed my car from your video! Thanks Jack!

I read that several members have problems fitting a new switch properly. Include me I had to call in an expert. He used my die grinder to relieve the housing. I bought the most recommended wiring harness around. Same problem so I'm wondering if the contact plate used by most all dealers is the same. I've also heard this story before from other members and restorers.

A little grease as suggested by Mr. Wesenberg, goes a long way to promoting smooth operation. This of course assumes that everything is seated, locked, and clipped properly.
