Default What color of Blue is this

image.jpg

I'm thinking of painting my car the same color and would like to get an idea of this color. In your option is it Ford Washington Blue or Ford Jefferson Blue or something different. Sorry best picture I have at the moment

Thank You

Isn't the Ford Washington Blue the darker of the two? OK I understand the photo I sent is inside a building, but of the two blues which is the darker color

Thank You

Nice Car ......whoever owns it, do you know which of the two Ford colors mentioned is the darker color as the photo I supplied shows the car indoors with artificial lights vs the other photo shows the car outdoors in sunlight.

Thank You

" Thanks for your inquiry
I am sorry but the car does not belong to us so I wouldn’t be able to tell you the number or type of color of the car.
I do remember that it was not metallic and it was a very dark blue almost blackish.
I am sorry I can't be of more help"

I inquired a while back and they just replied, to me being a almost blackish color would steer me to a Dearborn Blue , I believe the 40 Ford Lyon Blue is not as dark. I do like the colour on the 39 but realize looks are deceiving and would be hard to pinpoint exactly, I like the minimal amount of pin striping on this car also. I suppose I will have to research to know in color which is the lightest to darkest from Ford Washington, Ford Jefferson, Ford Lyon, to Ford Dearborn,

Thank You all for taking the time and energy to my answer.

Joe, Here's a photo that may help a bit. Both '40 coupes are Lyon Blue. The 39 is Jefferson. All three of these cars were very top point restorations... the worst of the three 997. I only say that so you have some confidence in the color matching.
If you are not interested in "correct" why not just have a shade mixed that YOU like the best?

Yes that is an option if not wanting a correct Ford color.

Thank You

Joe

Jefferson was the dark blue for '39, Lyon for '40. What year car are you planning to paint?

1939 car, yes I realize the Jefferson is the correct color for that year car, the Washington Blue in 39 looks like it was offered in the truck series.

Anyway life goes on
