3-Remove rear Drums & hubs & save to use w new backing plates
4-Remove rear backing plates move to spare / sell stuff
5-Install new king pins & new spindles
6-install front Bendix backing plate assemblies
7-Install new front hubs
8-Install new front drums
9-Install new rear backing plate assemblies
10-Install original rear hubs & drums
11-install Early Ford Garage (Rich) conversion master cylinder & frame kit
12-install brake lines

Sounds like a plan; although you don't mention the E brake; maybe that is part of the V8 Garage stuff.

Remove the center brake actuator . I have done this 3 times on 35 & 36.If you have a dropped axle you will have clearance problems with the front wishbone if you don't have dropped spindle arms..

deuce lover, I’m probly a terminology dummy & call it something else but what is the center brake actuator?
Also my axle being stock & the new spindles being stock height, I should be OK?

I have seen that cross shaft used as part of the E brake in conversions; don't know if Richard's kit done that way; tho.

I believe from installing a ‘39 tranny a few yrs ago & pictorials sent & conversations w Richard of EFG the e-brake handle pivots off the rear tranny mount as is. His kit uses cables connected to it to operate / actuate the rear brakes thru the backing plate as would normally occur via ‘39-‘48 stock setup.

If you haven’t got new stub axles yet, boling brothers in California can supply a brand new Lincoln style brake kit that will bolt direct to your 35 stub axles. I’ve installed them on my convertible sedan. You do have to cut the mechanical brake bell off the top of the kingpin to clear the wheel cylinder

Probly just unfamiliar with terminology, you speak of modifying the brake bell on king pin so your talking the front brakes? What are stub axles?
