What are you planning on using as a radiator? Second question, why are you wanting to run it this way?

Would be difficult to tension the belt without the generator...

You can buy V belts in every length at the auto parts store.

Thanks for responding. Reason for running it this way I don't have a generator just installed it in my 49 F1, don't know what kind of shape the motor is in want to run it for a little while just because you understand. I have a flathead radiator all hooked up plumbed everything is good to go just no water pumps turning at the time thanks

Your life will be a lot easier with a generator so you can put tension on the belt.

If you have an old belt, you can put it in place to measure.
It may be easiest to cut the old belt, mark the overlap with pencil.
Use tape measure.

Old time auto parts stores could sell you by belt length.
New stores can too, if they can grasp the concept.

(If you let us know your general location, some one close might be able to help you find or loan you a generator.)

Depending on what luck you are having, I can ask around the club in Denver and find a generator for you and can meet you in Glenwood Springs Tuesday, October 30th.

If you just want to run it for a short period of time, run it till the temperature reaches the level where the thermostats would open and allow water flow.
Then shut it down and let it cool. No need for water pumps.

What format is the photo in? Size is often the issue, there are size limits for each format.
