Pine Ridge Auto in Canton used to be the best one around here. The owner died but his son and grandson still run the place so it may be worth looking into. There is also a man named Donny Key. Keys automotive machine or something like that. He is also in Canton. I have never dealt with him but I have heard good things from other people. There is also one in Cartersville but I'm not sure on the name.

I've used Precision Machine Service in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. for my last two Ford motors. Dennis Hawkins is very knowledgable and honest. He has a complete machine shop and dyno in a relatively small shop. It's either just him or one other machinist he hires when things get busy. He primarily builds race engines, prefers Fords, but does it all including antique engines. The shop turns out about 50 engines a year. Dennis was a protege of the late Joe Mondello and was doing Mondello's machine work before Joe died. He's a very straight shooter, kinda humble, charges a fair price, and does excellent work.

Harold "Putt" Smith in College Park, GA 770-964-6219 or 404-964-6973. He has been building flatheads 40 years and this about all he does now. THE VERY BEST.

You might try Bobbie Robert at Roberts Machine Shop in Chattanooga. He did the bored and stroked 59A in my '36 sedan and I'm very pleased with the work. He has an excellent reputation in this area.

2nd on not being able to find a better flathead rebuilder than Putt Smith.

A lot of the guys in the V8 club also use Will's Machine Shop in Chamblee, GA for machine work.

Whatever it takes...lol
You used to do it.
The flatheads of today are not made of imperviumite so it might take
a few extra chemicals now.
