I will be adjusting my valves. What is the CORECT SETTING to use in adjusting them.I know the A Setting but was wondering if there is a different setting for a B engine. I do have adjustable lifters. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I recommend .012" intake and .014" exhaust on my regrinds.

If you are using new stainless valves, you will need to increase the clearance on the exhaust valves to about 0.025". You can check what you have with a magnet. There will be only a little attraction if they are stainless.
I recently did another motor and used stainless valves and a new grind on the cam. The guy who did the regrind asked me what I was using and told me of a guy who ran into trouble with is Model T. He set the clearances at what the book said but the car didn't run well. Upon investigation, it was found that the cam follower was rubbing the heel of the cam quite hard. They opened the clearance and it stopped happening at 0.025". The stainless valves expand more than the others so they require more clearance. I found his 0.025 to be pretty right.
If using "normal" valves, what Jim says is OK but not less, IMO

I adjusted my exhaust valves to .022 as recommended by the “ FORD GARAGE” website. The settings were from a valve setting chart that were recommended by the manufacturer. While running the engine I did not hear any excessive valve noise. I set all the intake valves to.013. Shortly I will go for a test drive. Does .022 for exhaust valves sound excessive? The head was not removed so I don’t know if the valves are SS. The engine was rebuilt by a previous owner.

.022" sounds excessive to me, irregardless of valve material. I don't know the expansion differences but I think very little.

I set mine at 0.022" as a compromise because I thought 0.025 sounded excessive. After a hundred miles, I dropped the sump and had a look at the camshaft. Sure enough, the cam followers had been rubbing the heel of the cam so I opened them up to his recommended 0.025". They are noisy when cold but quieten right down as they warm up
I feel I should say again, that is for stainless valves, not the standard ones. Check them with a magnet or ask the supplier.
