The "divorced choke" mechanism bolts on there. I have a couple of Mercury manifolds up at my shop and can take picture of what you want tomorrow if someone else doesn't get you what you want.

Wow, thanks for the picture I will look through my parts tomorrow and see if I still have that little bugger. I need a way to plumb this into an automatic choke on 2GC Rochester carb.

I have made this conversion. It works very well. If you mount the carburetor backwards on the manifold, everything falls into place except for the choke linkage. I fooled around with it for a while until I decided that the stock automatic choke would work just fine. You have to "tweek" the choke rod just a bit and everything works just fine.

I have this setup on a couple of cars and it is, in my opinion, the best intake setup for a street driven flathead. You should, however, bore out the Merc manifold "all the way down" to match the 2G. (A "small base" 2G" will bolt right on the Merc manifold, but the throttle bores are a bit larger than the Merc Manifold). Get in touch with me if you want to go down this path, as I have the tools to bore out the Merc manifold.

I'm definitely going this route, I took my roto broach bit, carb base plate, and intake to the local machine shop here. They used my bit and their equipment and bored it out right on the money. They did a really good job. I don't remember if the intake came with the choke mechanism or not.

Yes, I would definitely benefit from seeing how you solved this. Send me a couple pictures when you get the chance.

The divorced choke set up showed up about the same time as the Merc-O-Matic in early 1951. Both of my early 51 cars (Novermber of 1950) have the choke stove on the carburetor like the 49 & 50 cars.

I found the base of the choke, but looks like I'm missing the spring and cover (maybe more) pure speculation on my part never seen one of these before.

Anybody got the parts or a whole one they want to turn loose of?

Here's the divorced choke on the 2G on my late '51 Mercury manifold. If you compare this to the photo of the stock setup posted by "WABOOM", you can see that making it work is almost a "no-brainer".

I also have one with the other type of automatic choke on the '51 Merc in my '51 Ford coupe. It also works great. I had originally intended to figure out how to hook up the manual choke, but the automatic works so well, I figured "why bother?".

The spring and cover look like parts I have seen on old carbs many times. They should be easy to find. If you have trouble, PM me and I'll look through my "stash" and see what I can find. I can compare them to my existing setup to make sure they are right.

The one you have is 60's model carb/choke? The two I have are in the 50's. Looks like I can convert the choke on the carb to the style you have fairly easy. Thanks for posting that helped out a lot.
