Default Dealer adds / 1930 Prices???

I have a project ... I'm trying to figure out the original selling price of our car. Wen have found the FOB Detroit selling price, $640.00... but we can't find the body code, so estimating the delivery charge will be tough.
It has a rear spare tire ... oh, the car is a 1930 Murray Town Sedan, and a leather trunk mounted to the rear. Those appear to be the only added options. Any one have info on those dealer options, or if they actually were dealer added.

Thanks!!

Delivery charge should be determined by the distance from the factory, not by body code.
Where are you located and is that the point you want as delivery?

I have a couple dealer invoices from a place in upstate New York, if that would help.

There was also a charge for bumpers and fluids, if I remember correctly.

There is a lot of good information on this subject in Peter Winnewisse's book 'The Legendary Model A Ford''.
A Town Sedan in Aug. 1930 was sold list price [Detroit] $660. Depending on where it was sold, the price could have been an extra $50 - $75.
The list price was bumped up by charges for bumpers [ which were not optional] of $15 plus spare tire/tube[$13] ,gas & oil [$3], lastly freight charges of$35.
Many cars had buyer options , usually pedal pads [.35c], tire cover [$2], tire lock [ $3] & spring covers[$3.50].
Note, cowl lamps, stone guards or w/w tires as new options do not appear to feature!
Must have been a shock to find out what you actually had to pay for a new Ford then.
BTW Ford Canada had a different pricing policy & quoted the final price you had to pay, no extra charges for bumpers, spare tire & often with a tire cover thrown in.
