quote "Some "A" introits don't like the "AR" term, but it is justified. Part numbers ended in an A suffix. After the redesign, so to speak, the Engineers went back and added the suffix "R" to the part numbers. R standing for "REPLACED". Thus giving us the term AR for these car. Not only were a large number of parts replaced, but the original car as designed was replaced because of this. This was major. It's not like they just changed a dimmer switch or add another tail light or something."

Thanks for the explanation of "AR" . I knew it was only on the early model a ,but didnt know what it stood for. Now i do.

NOT justified sorry. No one gave it the term AR...it is known as E-28. the AR or BR is for parts only..not cars, seems long ago that term stuck on cars but its not correct..

you have a very very nice car..

I think your explanation if AR is close but slightly off. I hope if I am wrong someone will correct me. The original release of the part had no suffix If the part was changed it was assigned an "A" suffix (and so on through the alphabet each time the part changed). If the new part could not be used to repair a vehicle that had already delivered an "R' was added to indicate the part was to be stocked by the dealer for repair only and not for use on the production line.
