Default 42 ford pickup bumpers

This is first time posting so here goes. I am restoring a 1942 1/2 ton and am in the process of replace/repairing front bumper. Should bumpers have a ford number or logo on them like most original parts?

First, welcome to the Ford Barn. Great folks and tons of good information here.

I had a 42 at one time and it didn't have a logo on the front bumper. Most of that vintage Ford pickups only came with the front bumper. Most that I've seen had a step bumper on the rear. As I understand it a rear bumper was an option but, only 5% of the buyers opted for them, and as far as I can tell they didn't have a logo. Perhaps someone else will chime in the more information.

I once had a 1/2 ton '46 panel delivery with a factory rear bumper and it certainly did not have a Ford script anywhere on it.

I hope this helps? B)

I agree, no logo on the bumper.

front bumpers for 42 were painted and wider than any other previous year, these same bumpers were used from 42 to 47 on the 1/2 ton trucks, pu/panel/etc., I think the 3/4, 1, 1 1/2 ton were the same also
