Go to a motorcycle store and purchase a wrap kit for pipes. You wet it prior to install, and then wrap it overlapping each round. This will help with immediate heat transfer.

The second side is it sounds like the fuel mixture is lean. Lean mixtures and/or retarded ignition timing will cause the engine manifolds to overheat. Remember that the Weber 32/36 carburetor was O.E. on engines like the Pinto & Vega where the cubic inch range was under 150. Even the V6 Pinto engine only had around 170 cubic inches. A stock bore Model-A has cubic inches of just over 200. Bottom line is the carburetor is likely too small for the application, ....especially with one that has siamesed ports that feed back-to-back cylinders.

Thank"s Brent. What should the timing be on it, i also have electronic ignition. How should the Weber be set it is now 1 an 1/2 turns out. it idles and runs fine. We were it Tampa for the Cigar City Flat head Cruse and i did wrap the header that helped a lot. Just concerned about the heat.
