Default Accelerator pedal question.......

I've got an accelerator pedal that needs a new spring. As you know I have to take that assembly apart in order to do that. Is that pin that holds the spoon to the rest of the assembly a rivet? Would a roll pin work? Also, are all replacement springs the same or does someone have a better/best one?

I tried a search on this but didn't come up with much. Thanks for any help.

I know the V8 spring is different from a 4 cyl . You do not have to remove the pedal from the shaft to change the spring . You can work it around the 90 and slip it off

From memory, I don't think I even had to take the assembly off of the fire wall to do the job.

Hey Ted,
Regarding roll pin use, if you can 'peen' the roll pin ends , just a little. I've used roll pins for this job.
