Default shock question

A friend of mine is looking at a '46 Ford to possibly purchase. The car is out of state and we have not gone to look at it as yet. We were discussing what sort of updates would be necessary for the car as it is in pretty much original condition judging by the photos and description. The subject of shocks came up. He asked about whether it has lever type shocks or tubular. I had a '48 years ago that had tubular shocks and I would guess that a '46 would also but you know what happens when you assume. I did a little online research and was able to come up with replacement tubular shocks for '47 & '48 but no listing for '46.

'46 still had lever shocks. Change over to tubes was late in '47. Kits are available to change this if so desired.
