Default 1950 F1 hydraulic clutch need ideas

Fellas,

The PO did a poorly installed hydraulic clutch with a firewall mounted clutch arm. I like everything to look "stock". Has anyone installed a MC directly to the pushrod off the original clutch pedal? I was thinking I would remove the clevis, install a coupler and locking nuts (for adjustability), and another threaded rod into the MC itself. I need to make a bracket or find a way to install a MC inline with the pushrod. Has anyone done this? If so, what MC did you use and how did you fab a bracket? Photos appreciated. Once installed it's an easy run with a braided line over to the slave cylinder and throw out arm.

Thanks,
Jim T

Rather than asking for a wild-assed suggestion for a master cylinder, one of the most important aspects for making a selection would be getting the appropriate cylinder bore. That is going to be based on the bore of the SLAVE cylinder in addition to the geometry of your pedal set-up. In other words, it ain't quite that simple. DD

Might try the master/slave setup from a late 50s early 60s f100 truck

Is the truck stock? Maybe easier just to use original parts if it is.

Lots of guys have done a frame-mounted clutch MC for their T5 conversions. I believe someone sells a kit commercially.

OK, just to clarify...what I'm really looking for is a photo or possible idea of how they fabbed up the bracket and how they adapted the linkage. I'm hoping that the linkage has enough throw to compress the MC enough to disengage the clutch.

V8Cooper - Yes, I can find my own MC and slave combo easily enough. However, if someone already came up with a good functioning solution with a particular MC I would like to think they would be happy to help a fellow Barner out...

Ross F1...I'd rather not spend $300 on a kit when I can fab something myself for a little time and the cost of the MC. I saw those kits but none of them used the original clutch pedal on the ones I saw. And I'm too cheap to buy something that should be relatively easy to make.

So...if no one has done this before I'll just have to jump in and make up some kind of plate to bolt to the frame as I was thinking. And I'll post some photos after it's in to help the next guy to make some decisions with his project. Stay tuned...

There is some degree of movement between the frame and the drivetrain. This my not be significate, but it might be better practice to attach the slave cylinder to the engine or transmission if possible. Also, this might be a good question for the HAMB.

I know someone has done just what you are proposing that posted it on the Ford Truck Enthusiast site, but I can't find it. As I recall they had the MC behind the pedals, just like the brake MC.
Edit: here, try these:
