Re: Send in your Truck Photo
Ted, this is a beautiful and tastefully restored truck, I really like the black inserts in the bed.

Re: Send in your Truck Photo
G' day Willie, to me a Truck is a Truck is a Truck. It can be a Roadster Truck, a Pie Truck, Bread Truck, Milk Truck or whatever. So many variations were made/built back in those days and used as a truck, it was the times and that is one thing that I like so much about that era. Good ole American ingenuity. My grandfather made a Truck from a touring car and pedaled goods from Tennessee to Texas.

Re: Send in your Truck Photo
Tom,
Feel free! It's a late 27 Ford Roadster pick-up. I've had it for about ten years. My youngest son painted it with Rustoleum and brushes when he was little. It need another coat, but my grandson isn't quite old enough! I'm currently running a Leapin Lizard (7:1) head, Stipe cam, nylon timing gear( I onec tried to qiuet the engine down), water pump and thermostat, and a vintage auto-lite distributor. I converted it to 12 volt when my back was bad, and moved the starter button to the side of the seat riser so the kids could play in it (remember Laurel & Hardy?) I run stock brakes, but keep the parking brake lined and made some re-inforcing bands for the rear drums to mitigate brake fade. It goes 50 all day long (according to the GPS, with just me in it). I run 15W-40 Rotella oil, so it starts easy in the winter. Last summer I put Model A intake, tillotson and a Model B exhaust on it. It went past 60 with ease, but it was too scary, so I put the Holley NH and T exhaust back on it. I average about 50 miles a month on it, year 'round. It's a good old dog, and it doesn't mind if I don't brush or feed it for a week or two. R/ Roger. |

Re: Send in your Truck Photo
G’ day to all. I am receiving enough Truck photos to now setup 2-pages and have divided them into page-1 "Roadster and Light Pickups" and page-2 "TT and Heavy Trucks". If by chance I omitted your truck photo during the transition, please let me know and I will get it posted again. Thanks to everyone for sharing your photos and also for the encouraging emails that I have received.

Re: Send in your Truck Photo
G' day fellows, if you have not visited my web site lately you have to check out Gary's TT that runs on wood. Not only a great looking "ole TT", but a beautiful setting for the picture. This is the way it truly was back in the early 1900's. America and Ford.
