Hey guys,

So I’m looking for a 60’s galaxie front split bench seat. I found something for sale but not really sure how to tell if it’s from a galaxie and the seller isn’t sure as well. Would any of you guys be able to tell me how to figure out if it is or not?

The only way I can think of is if not having a take-out seat available for comparison is to look at the seat tracks and see if there is an ID STAMPING NO(s) or a DATE CODE.

As far as I can tell the fairlane/galaxie share the same body so I assume the seats would be interchangeable

The Fairlane (62 and up) was a medium size car. The Galaxie was a full size (spelled huge) car. Fairlane seats might be smaller.

60s is a broad spectrum in the automotive world. Galaxie cars changed every two years or so but there are a few years that are one year only for parts. Fairlanes did shrink to mid size in 1962 so they are different after that.
