I have recently acquired a 1925 fordoor body (completely disassembled) and was wondering if it could be used to make a '26 fordoor. I have the '26 firewall, dash board & cowl (and the rest of the '26 running gear). Are they two completely different animals or is it reasonably possible to do? I noticed Fordwood.com has different numbers for the wood pieces of the two bodies.

If that 4 dr sedan body is completely disassembled, I wish you luck. The 25 and 26 bodies are almost the same. The one big difference is the mounting of the rear fenders. The 25 rear fender is hung on fender braces and the 26 fender is bolted to the body. The 26 has a recess in the body that the fender fits into.
I have not actually tried the swap you want to do and maybe someone that has actually done this should post their experience.
If you need a wood kit, hold your wallet, they are very expensive as the 25 thru 27 bodies are all wood with sheet metal tacked on.
I would take a good look at the width of the fire wall you have and see if it fits the sedan.

Willie is very correct on the wood quantity & price. It looks like you have a nice wire wheeled chassis & probably could find a workable 26/27 open body for less than the cost of a 4 door wood kit. The end result would be a car worth considerably more & the restoration cost would be less.

I agree with the suggestion of finding an open 26 body. If there are any hills in your area, a fordor would be disappointing. They are very heavy, and do not perform well.
