Default ujoint

Just picked up a 30 sedan, been sitting since 1996.Took a day to get it running and drove great except jumping out of 3rd gear on acceleration.Pulled rearend to drop tranny and noticed the inner cap(part # A4513-A) was missing. This part prevents the ujoint from moving back.Would this cause the tranny to jump out of 3rd?

The universal joint retainer, A-7095, should keep the universal joint from moving.
A-4513 should keep the rear axle from moving back and forth.
