Default Another quick Carb question...

Can anyone provide any info/application on this Holley carb?? The Model 885DD I can sortov understand, but the 3 bolt base and cast iron body really throws me. Maybe ken_ct has an idea?? Thanks

885 holley is normally a 49-51 Merc carb. BUT never saw one like that before,mabey Charlie might know,you ever see one of these Charlie??? New one to me. ken ct.

Most likely from a large truck such as a GMC, White, IHC, or the like. Some heavy duty trucks had large air cleaners and ducts which required a beefier connection to the airhorn. IHC used a larger version of the AA1 which also used a cast iron air horn, an example...

This a special carb made by Holley, with a standard 94 base, specifically for the Canadian military. For use on the 2.5 ton and larger trucks. It is a very unique carb in the fact that they love to run in pairs and give very good performance. See my gallery at dickshotrodcarbs.com I have some side by side and front to back mounted.

Excellent!! I just happen to have a NOS pair of these carbs, the other one is still in its original wax-sealed box. I was pondering some unusual induction for them....thanks for the ideas!!
