I'm running two 97s on a 59a bored +60 mild cam Navarro heads and intake. Carbs are jetted @ 041 and i'm getting some stumbling coming off idle. Question, would dropping down to a smaller power valve (#70) help or hurt? Thanks

Try 43 jets and 67 PV's. Turn over every page and be sure there are no vac leaks
and that the dwell and timing are to spec. Another possibility is carboned up plugs.

Try .043 mains [ or bigger] 69 P/V this is close to sea level.

Stumble off idle? First check that both accelerator pumps are putting out a good stream in both barrels. If leather plungers, try a drop or two of motor oil on the accelerator pump shaft where it goes into the top of the carb. If cold weather, put the accelerator pumps on the winter attach point (the one further out, with the longer stroke).

On the subject of jets, .041 seems very lean for low altitude. I had my 3x2 97's jetted at stock .045 and went to .047 because the plugs looked like the engine was running lean.

Dual 97s. Ran 43s with 65 PV. Stumbled. 600 ft above sea level. Went to 45s and 71 PVs.
Runs great - no stumble, 45s with 65 pv - bogged - too rich.
