Default 35 Coupe front floor mat

The mats generally on offer have a slash...35/36. I've been told the 36 mat does not fit the 35. Any sources that don't need modification?

Thank you.

That is because the shift tower on a '35 is different than a '36 so you might have to cut the hole for the tower.

I do not believe the 35 Ford floor mat was reproduced, in addition the rib pattern is different between 35 and 36 Fords. Also agree the shift tower as well as the transmission covers are also different.

At one time the '35 front mat was accurately reproduced. The color was also different from the '36 mat (taupe for '35 versus Benton Gray for '36).

There also was a reproduction 36 Ford floor mat that was Taupe color like the one in my 36 Ford Coupe. It does have the proper opening for the shifter as well as the correct pattern. At one time, there was a plan to offer it again, but did not happen so only Benton Gray is available.

With Job 1 (9/10/35) in the 1936 model year, the first floor mats were tan with the 36 ribbed design. On or about 10/24/35 the color was changed to Benton Gray and this color continued thru the end of the 36 model year. The Benton Gray mat carried a -B suffix and the tan mat assigned a -AR suffix.
