Default Cylinder Head

On my 29 I always had a problem getting a good idle. Car runs fine under load and never overheats. Thought I would check to get it right.Checked vacuum and had alot of fluctuations. Checked valve adjustment and compression check.1and4 @74# 2and3@50#. Did percent leakage test and 1 and @20 percent 2 and 3@90 percent. Also air going from 2to3 and 3to2 like a blown head gasket! I'm going to pull the head but has anyone experienced this with no overheat or bubbles in radiator and running fine off idle! Very unusual!!

You could very easily have a leak between cylinders with no leak of coolant. The width of the head gasket between cylinders 1&2 and 3&4 is pretty narrow.
Good Day!
