Default Rumble Seat

I wanted to ask if "Rumble Seat" is the official name of the seat or a nick name that stuck? How did it get named that. I have an idea if I think a certain way but also think it would be pretty difficult to "Rumble" in that thing.

'I have an idea' !
Ford people had mother-in-laws back then too, believe it or not.
Just imagine telling your MIL that she had to sit 'back there'..
Do ya think that there might be some sort of disagreement/'rumble'

In the UK, it's called a "Dicky Seat", which kinda goes along with your "Rumble" idea.
